Anticipation is Building...
I've been home in Chicago all weekend for the Coldplay concert and of course for opening night tomorrow. I've been amazed at the excitement for baseball to start again. Here are some of the things I've seen that are direct results of winning the World Series.
- More White Sox shirts, hats, jerseys, e.t.c, than Coldplay shirts at the concert Thursday night.

- Signs that say "White Sox Parking" down Ogden Ave as north as the Kennedy Expressway. (These can be attributed to the detoured White Sox traffic away from the Dan Ryan construction as well, but at that point you are closer to Wrigley Field than Comiskey.)
- An advertisement on TV today for fans to get on the 2007 Season Ticket WAITING LIST.
- Almost every radio staion running promotions for some White Sox or Cubs tickets (most for the games between the two teams).
- If you haven't seen the actual tickets (the season tickets) check them out. They are silver with the trophy on them and pictures from the playoffs. Really sweet.
As far as the team goes, the Sox looked pretty good this weekend in Atlanta. Jim Thome has hit 8 HRs in seven games, including his 1st inning blast today. Garland looked good after struggling with his control early. Rob Mackowiak had a great day offensively and added an amazing catch in centerfield that possibly had some fans thinking Aaron Rowand was back out there. It was also good to see the team running, sacrificing, and adding some power at the right times too (Ross Gload had two doubles and single).
Looks like everything is right on track for some classic "Ozzie Ball" tomorrow night on the SOX SIDE!!
Also, MLBlogosphere featured my blog today. Check it out!
Hope to see you at Comiskey Park tomorrow.

What do you think of this Contreras deal? I'm glad this keeps the depth of the rotation together but I don't like this article in the Sun Times about Buehrle maybe being the odd man out.
Being from out of town it's hard to get a feel for the situation. I know I want them to do whatever they can to keep Buehrle after his contract is up, do you see it the same way? What are most sox fans saying about the impact of this signing on Buehrle and McCarthy?
